B&J, Inc., Sales Manager will develop opportunities for B&J’s precision sheet metal, machining, and powder coating services, utilizing technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying our services to meet their needs, resulting in revenue generation and expanded customer partnerships. Direct a sales team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company vision and values.
Duties:
Essential
Contact current and potential customers locally and outside the Reno/Sparks area
Research and develop lists of potential customers
Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales
Encourage facility tours
Establish long term, ongoing repeat relationships
Meet established sales and revenue goals, while maintaining maximum profitability
Assist customers in resolving problems with products and services
Establish memberships and participate in strategic organizations within the local community
Assist with marketing materials including, but not limited to, web page and phone message
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers.
Communicate openly, honestly and constructively
Determine customer needs and suggest appropriate services
Provide complete information to estimators to enable timely quotes to be produced
Present quotes to customer, obtain feedback and accept orders
Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner
Research, develop and maintain long and short range sales plan
Maintain a working knowledge of B & J’s capabilities and services
Produce regular reports and final plans for approval by company President
Maintain an up-to-date awareness of the company’s strategic plan and processes
Direct duties of team members in the
Sales Department
Coach and support the Sales team
Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner
Responsible for hiring and corrective counseling as needed
Willing to work overtime as needed
Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation
Participate actively and positively in Lean activities
Track and chart data as needed
Prepare/present sales data as needed including, but not limited to, Sales
Backlog, Booked Orders, Quote Capture
Rate, Sales Forecast and monthly final figures
Skills:
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Professional appearance and presentation skills
Strong creative skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to travel as needed
Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or related field
Minimum of three years field sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong customer relationship development skills
Good blueprint reading ability
Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Strong knowledge of metals and their properties a plus
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and maintenance of clean driving record.
Must be 21.
Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids)
Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test
