A customer came in with a RAV4 wanting to know what her transmission wasn’t working and the rpm’s would race up after 2nd gear. We drained her fluid - this is all there was. We did a double flush to bring back to red. Couldn’t save it. Needs a transmission. Have you serviced your transmission?

Buying a used car????? I cannot stress enough to all of you to make sure to take the car you’re thinking of buying to have it checked at a reputable shop before buying it. I have too many customers lately buying cars and having them need so much work. I have a customer that bought a used “certified car” from a dealer lot (Mercedes tho it’s a GMC) he has put 10k miles on it in two years. Beside purchase price, he’s sunk $9k into it (it needed a transmission the first year) and now it needs an engine. Make sure if it’s a timing belt car it won’t need one soon. Rule of thumb is 90k miles or 10 years whichever comes first. If they didn’t spend $1800 or more for that complete job they replaced the serpentine belt.
