PRG Owner Smokey talks about some of the materials we work with in our recycling facility. Always something interesting to see!

This material comes from one of our local customers that creates a lot of different paper products. Toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels are some of the lowest grade papers, so a lot of recycled paper ends up being made into one of these materials at the end of their life cycle! Once paper has been made into one of these lower-grade materials, they’re no longer recyclable, so make sure to keep these materials OUT of your bin!

Installing a stationary compactor for one of our customers! Glad to have a great team of techs that make these installs look easy.

Incinerating hard-to-recycle or mixed materials that can’t be mechanically separated or need thermal destruction for fuel (waste to energy) is an intense process and one of our last resorts for the materials we manage, but we’re still glad to keep these materials out of the landfill!

Comment when you see it!

This video comes from the wire-tie side of one of our customers balers. These wires make sure baled recycled materials stay together during shipping; some balers are set up to have wire tied manually, but this one is supposed to wrap bales automatically. There is often a lot of pressure built up in these bales (usually dependent on the material) so making sure the wires hold is very important!

Remember: batteries don’t go in your trash, or your recycling bin! It takes a bit of work, but disposing of your old batteries correctly saves our environment from damage, and helps the hard working people in emergency services, waste, and recycling.

First load of cardboard with one of our new balers for a Wyoming customer. A lot of this cardboard comes from the local bars, and the smell definitely gives it away!

There’s a lot that goes into servicing recycling equipment, and when things break down, it can make operations come to a halt. TJ talks about an interesting experience he had with one of our customers that had to stop operations for a small fix!
