A message from the Employee of the Month:

Yesterday morning, we woke up to an email letting me know someone had left Shopper’s Hardware a one-star Google review. The review felt unnecessary and unkind.

We take reviews seriously. We’re a local business, and can only stay here if our customers are happy. So, as we always do, we responded and then went to work.

Last night, I was SHOCKED to see hundreds of comments from people all over the world sending us love and kindness. Customers went above and beyond, leaving Google reviews as well.

We know we’re whimsical. We know Papa playing Broadway tunes in a 70-year-old hardware store is strange. We know keeping our PRIDE display up 365 days a year may make some people uncomfortable. We know that no matter how our employees dress, what gender they identify as, or what color their hair is, they’re going to treat you with kindness. We know Daniel is the boss and Bigfoot is all for show.

What we didn’t fully grasp was just how many of you genuinely enjoy shopping with us.

We have an incredibly wide range of customers, and reading your comments and kind words has made us feel incredibly grateful. What may seem quirky or unusual to one person is exactly what makes Shopper’s Hardware special to someone else.

We also know that not every experience with us will be perfect. We’ll make mistakes. But when something goes wrong, we will always do our very best to listen, make it right, and take care of our customers.

So we’ll keep doing what we do: bringing you fun and unique products, sharing our hardware knowledge and let Daniel win “employee of the month” every month.
Warren would be happy to know that, 70 years later, his shop is still a hit.
