🌍 Celebrating Earth Day in Miami, the hands-on way. This weekend, our Miami team joined Miami Waterkeeper for an early Earth Day cleanup at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park —a place deeply tied to the city’s cultural and environmental history.

The event kicked off with a beach yoga session and brought together a passionate group of community organizations and volunteers. Together, we removed a 120+ lb nylon rope tangled deep in the mangroves. It took teamwork, a lot of digging, and some serious effort—but the result was incredibly rewarding.

A big thank you to Miami Waterkeeper for being such generous and inspiring hosts, PLANTA for providing food for the groups, and to all the partners who helped make the day meaningful for our shared shoreline.

Benthic surveying, flushing analysis, and engineering and permitting are complete for Phase I at the Sawfish Bay Park living shoreline project in Jupiter. Last week, our team members spent the day working with Town staff and local high school students who are learning to construct Reef Ball modules to provide mangrove and oyster habitat at Sawfish Bay Park.

The Cummins Cederberg team will back out there early next month for a Reef Ball installation and mangrove planting event.

We’re also excited to announce that Phase II is currently underway. The benthic surveying has been completed while engineering and permitting are ongoing.
