Nobody fails a ballistic-rated opening on purpose. It usually fails on paper first, weeks before anyone is standing in the field.

Security glazing is never just about the glass. A bullet-resistant opening only performs the way it was rated when the whole system is coordinated: glass, framing, anchorage, surrounding conditions, and the installation details. That coordination does not start in the field. It starts in the shop drawings.

On a UL-752 or forced entry scope, the drawing set has to do more than show where the glass goes. It has to answer the questions that decide whether the assembly can actually be fabricated, approved, and installed:

- Is the specified glass compatible with the framing system?
- Are the anchors right for the surrounding condition?
- Are edge distances and attachment points clearly shown?
- Does the submitted system match the rated assembly?
- Can the fabricator and field crew build from it without guessing?

Vague or generic drawings turn into RFIs, delays, fabrication questions, and change orders nobody budgeted for. At MP Drafting, we produce shop drawings that are accurate, complete, and usable by the people responsible for getting the project built.

In 2025, the Columbus Metropolitan Library expanded to roughly 22,000 square feet (nearly double its original size). Includes three meeting rooms, four study rooms, a larger children's area with an aquarium and playhouse, a dedicated teen space, a game room, a recording studio, and a Learning Center for after-school student help.

LearnGlazing.com has launched its new Commercial Guardrails: System Types, Glass Fabrication & Field Layout course, designed to help glazing professionals better understand how guardrail system selection impacts glass fabrication, field layout, coordination, and installation.
