The liquid that we see in this CNC machine process is a coolant. Did you know that the purpose of a CNC machining coolant, as coolant in other applications, is to remove heat. When a cutting tool contacts a workpiece, it generates heat due to friction between the piece and the tooling. Coolant is necessary to maintain a proper operating temperature in order to prevent overheating that can lead to tool wear, poor performance, and possible equipment failure.

Midway Machine and Instrument started with four machines: 2 Bridgeport machining centers, 1 engine lathe and 1 lay down band saw. Our founder opened his doors for business in 1978. After developing a loyal customer base, we moved into a 2,000 square feet shop in 1984.
As of today, the Midway team now works out of 25,000 square feet in Houston, Texas.
