Powderhouse Hill ski area

Powderhouse Hill ski area Please read our posts to see if we are open. Our nice hill in Southern Maine is a perfect place for all ages to learn. Please carpool whenever possible.

We'll post updates when the ski hill is going to be open or closed on Wed and Fri nights 7-9 and 12-4 on the weekend. We're open the hours listed here depending on snow conditions. Tickets are still just 5 bucks for all ages, (cash only please bring small bills). Unfortunately we do not rent equipment you have to bring your own. We also suggest leather work gloves or adding duct tape to your curre

nt gloves so the rope doesn't damage them. The sledding hill next door is always open and there is no charge for it. You have to bring your own sled and you have to walk up the hill. Also on the weekends we can be very busy so parking can be a problem. See you at the hill!

The goal was to see who could get the most points doing all kinds of stuff on tele skis. But there's a viewers choice too.

It seems like East coast skiers are the most optimistic people on earth, but I think we all have to admit that a surprise storm is out of reach and our season is over. It’s been a great one- quick stats show we were open 34 days and had over 3500 people come out to enjoy local skiing and riding. We met a lot of first timers and saw a lot of familiar families which was great. We would also like to thank a group that has always been there for us over the years. They are Philbricks ski and sports for selling our t-shirts and sweatshirts (100% of the profits goes back to the hill) and for donations over years. Great Works Land Trust for a donation of enough fire wood to keep the lodge toasty warm all season. South Berwick Public Works, South Berwick Recreation and the Town of South Berwick for its continued support. The parking lot was always cleared after each dumping of snow, the rink was maintained, the hill mowed each fall and anytime we have had a breakdown they have gone the extra mile to get us back on the slopes. And finally, You! Thanks for supporting us and sharing you days with us.
We’ll see you next season.
Sincerely,
The volunteers at Powderhouse hill

We got snow, it just wasn’t enough. We will still be closed until we get more.

As you can imagine, the past couple of days have been tough on the snowpack. Sadly, we will be closed until we get more snow.
Hey, it’s not out of reach. 2 years ago we were skiing on April 4th.

Powderhouse hill wants to congratulate the Men’s and Women’s Marshwood ski team. We were excited to see them practicing at our hill a few times this winter and it paid off! The men’s team finished 5th at the class A state championship a the women’s team finished 7th. The women’s slalom race was won by Marshwoods own Hazel Martin. Also, both teams won the sportsmanship awards for the class a south.
The team wants to thank all of the sponsors for helping them have such a great season.

Real East coast skiers hit the slopes in any weather. So far this season we have been open in cold, when it’s snowing, and when it’s been sunny. Only one box left to check off.
Today, noon to 4

It’s always fun to see three generations at Powderhouse. Say hello to the Beattie family. On the left we have Dave who is a volunteer lift attendant. Dave is no stranger to skiing as when he was at Dartmouth he was on the ski team as a “four eventer.” He competed in slalom, giant slalom, cross country and ski jumping! Next in line is Tom who is also a volunteer, telemark skier extraordinaire, crew chief, mechanic, and groomer. Next we have Gus and Willa who ski fast and smile often. Great to see the four of them out tonight.
