Hydraulics still do much of the actual work, creating the force that lifts, pushes, digs, and moves heavy loads.

Built in Massachusetts. Now backed by Massachusetts. 💰🦾

Some news worth celebrating: RISE Robotics has been awarded a $100,000 START Grant from MassVentures, funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts! 🎉

RISE was one of just 26 Massachusetts startups selected this year from a record number of applicants.

Why does this matter?

💰 It’s 100% non-dilutive funding. The capital supports RISE’s continued commercialization without giving up equity.

📈 There’s an opportunity to advance. As a Stage I awardee, RISE is eligible to compete for additional START funding, with up to $800,000 in total funding available across the program’s stages.

🏆 We’re joining the ranks of some of Massachusetts’ most promising innovators. Since 2012, START has backed 157 companies that have gone on to raise more than $5 billion in private capital.

We just wrapped two days at iVT Expo USA in Chicago

This is the largest off-highway vehicle technology show in North America bringing together the engineers, OEMs, and suppliers building the future of our industry. 🦾

Electrification, automation, and AI-enablement of off-highway machinery dominated the conversation at this year's event. Several potential customers stopped by our booth to check out how our Beltdraulic™ cylinders unlock all of these capabilities for heavy machines by delivering hydraulic-class force through an electric, digitally controlled actuation platform.

We also reconnected with several companies in our sales pipeline and advanced many of those conversations. In-person trade shows are useful for exactly that reason - we can attract new leads and continue building relationships while showcasing how far our technology has come all within two days.

Physical AI is the next massive robotics shift 🤖

AI has learned to see, write, and reason. Now it has to move things in the real world. That's Physical AI, and it’s the next phase of robotics.

Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, put it plainly at this year's GTC keynote: "Physical AI has arrived — every industrial company will become a robotics company."

The catch is that AI can only move what it can sense. Every self-driving car on the road is electric, because computers can't control machines that run on fluid and levers. Heavy machinery still runs on analog hydraulics that can't tell a computer where they are or how hard they're pushing. We built RISE to solve this problem.

Did you know that RISE Robotics started as an exosuit concept before it became an industrial actuator? When RISE’s co-founders set out to build a real-life Ironman suit while studying at MIT, the plan didn’t include inventing a powerful technology that is could make hydraulics obsolete.

Hydraulics have dominated heavy machinery since before the automobile, so this is an extraordinary leapfrog innovation!

Our CEO, Hiten Sonpal, had the pleasure of sitting down with Steve Ryan on The Arqiv Podcast to share our founding story, and they geeked out on the physics. 🎥 Steve is an astute science investigator who cuts through the noise on AI, physics, and the science reshaping how we live and work.

They covered a lot, including how the idea started as an exosuit concept before it became an industrial actuator. Hiten explained how hydraulic systems leak fluid and waste energy, and why that makes them a poor fit for the digital, sensor-driven machines OEMs want to build now. He shared what a belt-driven cylinder actually looks like, and how it delivers hydraulic-like force without a drop of fluid. They also got into our work with Anthony Liftgates, the leading manufacturer of trucking liftgates.

However, one of Hiten's favorite parts was talking about why we chose Reg CF for this round. It means the people who believe hydraulics are overdue for an upgrade can actually own a piece of what we're building rather than just view the sidelines.

Leaders are taking notice of the future of heavy machinery 🤝

Last week, Representative Vince Fong (CA-20) toured our factory floor and watched RISE live demos of our active programs.

Rep. Fong sits on three committees: 1) Transportation and Infrastructure, 2) Science, Space, and Technology, and 3) Homeland Security. These committees help shape how the United States supports innovation in infrastructure, manufacturing, and defense.

Edwards Air Force Base is located in his district, and when the Congressman learned our Super Jammer program supports the airmen stationed there, the tour turned into a conversation about keeping our nation’s tech edge sharp.

Visits like this are further proof that the problem we're solving, modernizing a hydraulic standard stuck in the 19th century, has broad market relevance. Industry leaders, customers, investors, and now policymakers are noticing the same shift, with RISE helping lead the transition.

Productive conversations like these excite us about additional tailwinds for our growth at RISE.
