Our interiors team had a great experience at the EDspaces Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, last week.

They came back excited to share what they learned with the rest of the Deco team— from the latest furnishings, and innovative finishes, to emerging trends in educational design!

At Deco, our heart is truly in public education. We’re always looking for ways to learn, grow, and stay on the cutting edge so we can bring the very best ideas and solutions to our K-12 clients.

Always learning. Always developing. Always putting education first!

Run, Forrest, RUN… straight to the candy!

Forrest Gump made a special appearance at Wayne County Schools’ Trick or Treat event this past Friday, handing out candy to approximately 2,800 students! That’s a whole lot of sweet smiles, Halloween and Career costumes, and candy-loving kids!

It was a fun day, and Forrest was happy to do his part to make sure nobody left empty-handed. After all, life is like a box of chocolates… and Friday, there was plenty to go around! 😁

Yesterday, our Director of K-12 Accounts, Wayne Roberts, attended Kentucky Educational Development Corporation’s Cadre II meeting in Lexington, Kentucky.

With 40 years of experience in education, including his final 9 years serving as a superintendent, Wayne brings a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience that strengthens the way we partner with our K-12 clients at Deco.

Regular participation in KEDC cadre meetings keeps Wayne informed, connected, and prepared to help our clients navigate the ever-changing world of education. From federal requirements and compliance guidance to best practices and current issues, these meetings provide valuable information and meaningful discussion with fellow educational leaders.

We’re thankful to have Wayne’s experience and perspective on our team—and even more thankful for the way he uses it to serve Kentucky’s schools. At Deco, our heart is truly in public education.❤️

A BIG congratulations to our very own Zach McFall!

Zach has officially passed all six Architect Registration Examinations and has been approved by the Kentucky Board of Architects as a licensed architect in the state of Kentucky.

This is a HUGE accomplishment that takes years of school, thousands of internship hours, countless hours of studying, and an incredible amount of dedication and perseverance.

Licensed architects make up less than 0.036% of the U.S. population—that’s roughly one architect for every 3,000 people!

Zach, we are SO proud of you and all the hard work you’ve put into reaching this milestone. Congratulations, Zach, you earned it!

"Dogs of Deco" brings you... Chou Chou!

She's one of the the two playful, loveable Goldendoodles who keep Jason on his toes!😅

Yesterday, we were proud to be a part of the Clinton County High School College and Career Fair.

Thinking back on our own high school days, architecture wasn't really a field that was encouraged, or even represented, at events like this. Today, less than .2% of college students choose to major in architecture, while the need for architects remains steady.

That's why opportunities like this matter. They expose students to careers they may have never heard about, considered, or realized were even an option. Props to Clinton County Schools for broadening horizons and giving students the chance to explore what's out there. We were thankful to be a part of it.

The new addition at First Christian Church in Monticello has been open and in use for the past few weeks!

This was the final phase of a larger project that included expanding the sanctuary, transitioning from bench seating to theater-style seating, and ultimately adding the two-story addition, complete with a drop-off canopy, elevator, and outdoor deck.

Thank you to Higher One Photography for documenting the journey from start to finish. Check out the transformation! 👇️

Paul Walker is a historic 9-hole golf course in Bowling Green, Kentucky, cherished by locals for nearly a century.

We had the opportunity to work with Bowling Green Parks and Recreation to reimagine Paul Walker with a new pro shop and cart barn designed to meet the growing demand for activities on the property—while preserving and revitalizing many of the characteristics that made the previous clubhouse so special.

It’s always exciting to see a beloved community landmark get a fresh new chapter while still honoring what people have loved about it for generations.
