Well the weather is finally breaking and the deck is open, so let’s make sure we set the right expectations…

Captain Jack’s is a full-service restaurant, the average wait time is about 20 to 25 minutes to get a table, followed by another 20 to 40 minutes for food. However, this varies heavily depending on how busy it is in the restaurant. We are not fast food or a food truck.

* Waiting for a table: Industry average wait time for a table is about 23 minutes. Diners generally cap their willingness to wait at 30 minutes. We have several seating options across 2 bars, 3 dining rooms and 2 decks.

* Greeting and Drinks: Once seated, you should ideally be greeted by your server and have your drink orders taken within 3 to 5 minutes. Might be longer if we are busy.

* Waiting for Food: From the moment you place your order, you can typically expect your meal to arrive in 20 to 30 minutes.

Factors That Impact Wait Times

* Party Size: Large groups (over 4 people) take longer to seat and cook for, often pushing average table turnovers to two hours.

* Peak Hours: Wait times can double during Friday and Saturday dinner rushes, or during local holidays and events.

Please try to be patient - enjoy the environment & conversation. Our servers & kitchen are working diligently on your order.

Good morning~let's look at a few benefits from planting with native plants-

Low maintenance:
Once established, native plants generally require little maintenance.

Beauty:
Many native plants offer beautiful showy flowers, produce abundant colorful fruits and seeds, and brilliant seasonal changes in colors from the pale, thin greens of early spring, to the vibrant yellows and reds of autumn.

Healthy Places for People:
Lawns and the ubiquitous bark-mulched landscapes are notorious for requiring profuse amounts of artificial fertilizers and synthetic chemical pesticides and herbicides. The traditional suburban lawn, on average, has 10x more chemical pesticides per acre than farmland. By choosing native plants for your landscaping, you are not only helping wildlife, but you are creating a healthier place for yourself, your family, and your community.

Helping the Climate:
Landscaping with native plants can combat climate change. In addition to the reduced noise and carbon pollution from lawn mower exhaust, many native plants, especially long-living trees like oaks and maples, are effective at storing the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.

Conserving Water:
Because native plants are adapted to local environmental conditions, they require far less water, saving time, money, and perhaps the most valuable natural resource, water.

Wildlife
In addition to providing vital habitat for birds, many other species of wildlife benefits as well. The colorful array of butterflies and moths, including the iconic monarch, the swallowtails, tortoiseshells, and beautiful blues, are all dependent on very specific native plant species. Native plants provide nectar for pollinators including hummingbirds, native bees, butterflies, moths, and bats. They provide protective shelter for many mammals. The native nuts, seeds, and fruits produced by these plants offer essential foods for all forms of wildlife. (Why Native Plants Matter | Audubon).

That's all for today~thanks for joining us and remember to have a groovy day!
