It was an honor to welcome back Boy Scout troop 248 from the Tacoma area today! Fun story in my first year of business, troop 248 pushed me just past the profitable point and gave me the encouragement to keep this thing going. As a former scout of Troop 44 here in Sitka I am grateful for their Troop leader Dave Matzen and his crew for investing in this awesome group of kids! Thanks for coming back!

I had the honor of creating a piece of Metal Art for retiring USCG Air Station Sitka Commanding Officer Rand Semke. I was approached by Rand’s wife Ivy to create something to capture Sitka and I was honored to do so. The Semke family have been guests in our shop and I had the good fortune of working with Commander Semke to introduce a work based learning internship program at the air station this year for high school students. Sitka will miss this family and I was honored to get to play a part in honoring his service today.

Our guests from the Royal Caribbean are always up for a good time in the shop. We had makers from Massachusetts, Texas and Nebraska making family memories together and they produced some beautiful souvenirs to remember their Alaskan adventure by.
