GM LS engines will put up with a substantial amount of abuse. While this is good, it can also lead to cylinder heads caked with burnt oil and carbon. Our cleaning process when doing a valve job removes these deposits leaving a like-new head that is ready for its next life. These are headed for an LS-swapped Chevy Bel Air!

ON OUR GRIND πŸ’ͺ Over time the angled face of the valve can get worn and even corroded, causing it to stop sealing properly. As part of the cylinder head valve job, we grind the surface back flat at the manufacturer-specified angle to make sure it seals against the freshly machined valve seats. These Minneapolis Moline valves have a huge face that helps show the process perfectly.

This one is being built for boost down the road, making every step of the process that much more critical to performance and longevity. Decking the gasket surfaces in our high speed mill helps ensure a complete seal of the gasket, even under intense cylinder pressure with boost.

There's high pressure, then there's 𝐸𝑋𝑇𝑅𝐸𝑀𝐸 high pressure. Gates offers two different style fittings depending on the hose pressure and construction - the one-piece Megacrimp and the 2-piece GlobalSpiral for 4000+psi applications. Both of these fitting styles are rated to 1,000,000+ impulses, and each is designed crimp into the wire of the hose for ultimate durability.

⚾️ Your favorite team scoring? Awesome. Your hydraulic cylinders scoring? Less so. This pair of cylinders had scoring in the barrels that couldn't be honed, so we machined new ones to match with an inner and outer bevel to work with the existing glands. After some time on the welding table they are ready to reassemble and head back to work!
