Civil Engineer (licensed or on track for licensure)

This person will be responsible for project site engineering, either solely or in conjunction with another licensed engineer. This may include initial Client communications and project development, site planning, construction plan preparations, municipal and regulatory approvals, and construction-phase services. This person must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university and be AutoCAD proficient. A working knowledge of SurvCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and MS Office products would be a plus. ULC expects all its civil engineering staff to pursue engineering licensure, so if this person is not licensed, they must continue to seek it.
Professional advancement, including participating in company ownership within the next two to five years, would be the expected goal for this person.

**Unconditional Job Requirements:**

• 2-3 years of experience with clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as typing, filing, and record keeping.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office, QuickBooks, Excel, and corporate correspondence.
• Proven clear thinker, well-organized, level-headed, solution-oriented, and able to multitask.
• Self-starter, efficient, productive, works well with a team.
• Great verbal and written communication skills and customer service-oriented.

Urban Land Consultants is currently seeking a Civil Cad Technician to join our Shelby Township Team. We are seeking an individual that is a self-starter with the ability to operate a CAD station with direction from senior project managers. The candidate shall be capable of working in a fast-paced environment to provide our developers and construction trades with exceptional customer services. An initial 90 day performance review process will be conducted.

Qualifications
• Civil/Architectural background is preferred
• A working knowledge of AutoCAD
• The Ability to review and understand construction plans and specifications
• An understanding of standard drafting practices
• Organized, detailed oriented, and attention to details

Responsibilities and Duties
• Produce clean, well-illustrated, and accurate plans
• Develop and draft residential plot plans
• Develop and draft site plan and construction plans
• Update and revise plans per project manager directions
• Must be capable of understanding and comprehending differing municipal requirements
• Understanding of Mathematics

We have internships open for this up coming summer of 2024 for both office and field positions. These positions have the possibility of becoming full time for the right person.

We are looking for survey crew members. Particularly individuals that like to work outside. No experience required, we are willing to train.

Also, we are looking for drafting personnel to help with our daily tasks. Knowledge of AutoCAD is great, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

We are hiring for a Project Director - Engineer
The Project Director – Engineer is the lead professional engineer on projects, directing other engineering, drafting, and support staff, while also acting as the lead Client contact for the project. Aspects of this position may include Client contacts and project scope development, preparing professional services Agreements to cover an expected design scope, site planning, construction plan preparation, municipal and regulatory approvals and securing permits to construct.
• Must hold a Michigan Professional Engineer’s license or have the ability to gain licensure within 12 months of hire
• Must have multi-year relevant experience with land development-related civil engineering projects, preferably including supervisory roles
• Must be able to manage deadlines on multiple ongoing projects, including setting workflow priorities for themselves and other staff working on the project
• Must effectively communicate with Clients and other staff
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is important, while working knowledge of SurvCAD and/or HEC-RAS would be a plus.
