As we prepare for plans on Sunday to celebrate 75 years in business with a special community concert - we've also spent some time looking back to our roots - where it all started and the journey along the way! We are adding in add'l details as we learn of them so if you have a little history to include - please do in the comments!
According to our history (and news reports) Warehouse Sales opened in 1951 in it's current location by Edward and Harry Greenberger. It was an offshoot of Penn-Auto which opened at 125 West State St. in 1931. The brothers - from their sales travels - realized that change was a-coming so moved into discount merchandising with Warehouse Sales in 1951. They opened a Farrell outlet on Idaho St. in 1954; followed by a store in Butler, PA in 1956 - then an outlet in Transfer. We have put a some additional information with each photo. A special shout-out to the City Of Farrell, Pa who posted the pic below as part of celebrating their own anniversary - 125 years! - so full credit goes to them for the picture - which includes a shot of the Farrell Warehouse Sales outlet when JFK came to visit in 1960 near the corner of Idaho & Darr.

Check out our lineup for Sunday's Rockin' on the Rails concert!!
Gate opens at 2 PM - and Brave Astronauts kick off the event at 3 PM. Then Juvenile Characteristics comes out at 5 PM followed by headliner Chris Higbee at 7 PM! Around 6 PM the Lisacs and their Warehouse Sales team will head onstage to talk a little about 75 years in business among other things! We hope to see you there - Sunday, Sept. 6 behind the Warehouse Sales store at 200 W. Silver St., in downtown Sharon! Please help us share and repost!

We are getting PSYCHED for our upcoming Rockin' on the Rails 75th Anniversary Concert & Party this Sunday! Check out another sneak peek of phase 2 of the mural project on the back of our building! Shout out to our friends at Hope Center for Arts and Technology, Inc for helping us make it happen! The full reveal will happen at the concert. And to all of our followers on social media - if you can help us get the word out by reposting our posts this week - that would be GREAT! Get ready to rock the rails this Sunday! And Happy Monday!

Just a reminder that tonight is the next River Market - 5-9 PM with our friends at Quaker Steak and L**e! Stop out before the Sharon Tigers Football Home Opener (also tonight) and enjoy Live Music with Strange Daze; a Popup Marketplace and Fire Pits by yours truly (you can find these in our store and one is a giveaway for our Rocking on the Rails Concert Sept. 6!!) all set up on the Shenango riverfront next to Quaker Steak. Tonight's event will benefit the Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation with a special Dine2Donate by QS&L and also a special collection of new or gently used children's books for their children.
So stop out tonight at The River Market then cheer on your favorite high school football team on home opener weekend!
