Hello All, our Caroline build continued. This particular kit had some rain damage, not a problem at all, we just cut out the bad spots and ship lapped with good logs. We installed 1- 1/2" thick foam insulation board to go under the Tongue and Groove flooring and 3/4" thick foam Insulation on top of the Tongue and Groove ceiling and then added 1/2" pressure treated Plywood on top of the 3/4" Foam insulation board. We did use 1"x4" treated boards to create the frame on top of the Tongue and Groove ceiling boards, this gave us the 3/4" space to drop the 3/4" thick Foam insulation pieces into place. We then added the Synthetic felt onto the top of the 1/2" treated Plywood. We like using the Synthetic felt due to the gripping performance it has when walking on it to install the shingles. Give us your thoughts on this particular build, good and/or bad. The purpose of this build is to be used as storage and a nice place for the 4 dogs to call their home. We will end up using a rubber diamond plate matting to put on top of the Tongue and Groove flooring to protect the wood due to the pups. Next steps are going to be the deck boards and the railing. We know we are going to use 2"x6" treated deck boards instead of the traditional 5/4 treated deck boards. We feel the 5/4 deck boards are just too weak. Stay tuned after we install the deck boards and railings.
