Fas-Clamp description, uses and material

This clamp is designed for the use of working with telecommunications fiber optic cables, copper cables, or any other such cables similar to that style and type. The clamp is a one piece design composing of a top plate and a bottom plate with a hinge welded on the left side as a pivot point to open and close the clamp to as much as a 65 degree angle. The clamp is constructed of 3/16” inch forged solid steel. The closing mechanism for the clamp is a threaded rod attached to a threaded rod half inch in diameter incorporated into the underneath of the bottom plate of the clamp to pivot without any restriction with a bull nut attached to the threaded rod in the fashion of a large wingnut so that it can be opened and closed with one hand. The clamp has flanges incorporated into the bottom plate which enables the user too screw the clamp onto a surface such as a workstation, portable table, fiber optic lab splicing counter, or any other flat surface. The clamp also has rubberized gasket material consisting of two pieces on the bottom plate and one piece on the top plate. When the clamp is closed these rubber pieces, which are adhered to the top and bottom plate, will grip and squeeze the cables without damaging the fiber cable or pinching it causing a very tight and solid grip on the cable which allows no slippage. Once tightened into the clamp. The rubber gasket material is designed to withstand chemicals used in the prepping of the cables. It is adhered too the top plate and the bottom plate with an adhesive material once again designed to withstand the chemical harshness when cleaning cables. The clamp is designed for a one man operation it can be simply tipped open the cables would be laid into the clamp on the bottom the user would then flop the top of the clamp down flip the bull nut into the cut out groove of the top of the clamp and tighten down the bull nut to achieve maximum grip. The cable clamp is designed to hold cables as big in diameter is 3 1/2 inches and tighten down to cables as small as a quarter inch in diameter. This clamp gives the user a simple way to secure the cables into the back of a splicing lab, fiber optic trailer, work truck or portable workstation within the workspace or any other area where the user finds it usable. Creates a secure environment for prepping the cables into enclosures and also splicing the cables. They cannot get yanked out, pulled out, or any movement of the cables whatsoever once placed in the clamp and tightened. The clamp comes also powder coated to protect the steel and create a super sleek professional product that will leave a lasting impression on the user and those that see it. This clamp is different than any others due to the fact that you can operate it and utilizes it with one hand and also requires no tools to adjust. It is also made of solid steel with the incorporated hinge in the top and bottom plate which will never require any replacement and will not fall apart. The bull nut would you tighten the clamp with which allows it to open and close and tightens to the cable is also incorporated into the bottom plate. Again this will allow for years of harsh abuse and will stand up too many years of use.

The advantages to my invention over only two other items available that I have seen to do this same job. Basically the construction of my clamp is far superior than others. It is made of steel as opposed to the others that are a very lightweight sheet metal. Mine is also the only one that you can place the cables in without any adjustment necessary. The others require hand tools and wrenches and so forth to adjust to the specific size and diameter of the cable you are using. Mine is also one piece with the hinge incorporated into the top and bottom plates of the clamp, the others don't have this. One of them you have to completely remove the top to put the cables in. The others I have used in the past are not constructed well at all. I've had them fall apart within a month of use that is why I came up with my invention and the specific design of this model. This clamp is built to last and it’s made of quality materials, will not fall apart and is able too fit many cables at the same time of various diameters and can be used by one hand operation with one person.
