I recall the month of August 1995 is when I started repairing power tools for R&L Service and Supply (formally known Lichtman’s Industrial Supply). I know I still have my pay check stubs (don’t ask why) so I looked. First pay period was August 12-18! I can now say I have over 30 years experience repairing power tools.

Renewed life of a vintage Oster Drink Mixer model 40. I replaced a missing motor brush cap, cleaned, and replaced a very deteriorated power cord. Ready for another 60 years of use.

Usually old drills have many problems and need restoration, not repairing. They are usually underpowered too. This Black and Decker No. 38 Special from about 1953 is an exception. It’s smooth, quiet and balanced. $47.50 in 1953 is equal to $561 in 2024!! These tools were meant to be used for years and years and not disposed of after a year or two of use.

Pressure washers supply connection should always have a filter. The most common type is the rubber washer with a built-in mesh screen. This $1 part can save you $$$, it would have saved this customer $60. Rock debris entered the pump and lodged in the check valves. Lucky there seems to be no permanent damage.
