At UNACEM North America, we opened our doors for National Bring Your Kids to Work Day across our locations.

We brought families closer to what we do, showing our kids where their parents invest their energy every day and connecting our work with something bigger than operations.

Tehachapi Cement Plant, the oldest operating cement plant in California and the newest addition to UNACEM North America, welcomed Rafael Villalona, our new CEO. Founded in 1906, Tehachapi Cement has been the proud supplier of high-quality cement for the Southwest, supporting the construction of the Los Angeles Aqueduct.

Rafael was accompanied by Pedro Lerner, Marlene Negreiros, Álvaro Morales, and Santiago Castro from Grupo UNACEM’s Corporate team, together with Luis Goñi and Francisco Budge from the UNACEM North America Executive team. Together, they witnessed firsthand the pride, commitment, and resilience that continue define Tehachapi’s people and its enduring legacy in California’s cement industry.

As part of his induction, Rafael visited UNACEM operations in Peru, UNACEM Ecuador, and UNACEM Chile. With this milestone Tehachapi visit, he has now completed the first stage of his immersion journey in Grupo UNACEM and specifically within UNACEM North America. With Rafael’s integration into the daily operations, we begin a new chapter together: one company, one culture, and one shared purpose.
