If you drive by, you may see that our doors are open. They may be, but we’re not. I’m (Mel) just clearing out the gazillions of stuff that’s still here while Mike is playing with the fire dept water tender and sunburning. The store will reopen tomorrow as Bridge Mercantile. STOP BY TOMORROW AND SAY HI TO GLENDA! 😁 She’s continuing on as one of the new partners of Bridge Mercantile.

We've been super busy finishing up the last two days of getting ourselves out of the hardware business but we've got the pile of tickets and we'll be handing them off to Saborcito Rolling Taco Burrito Bar to be drawn this week. MORE, AS PROMISED :)

Welcome to the last week of Scio Hardware and Mercantile! Our hours this week will be 7:30am to 7pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We're staying open later than usual because we want you all to have a last chance to come in for some great deals and Mike and Melodee would love to see you as they're stepping off the retail stage.

Friday hours remain a little uncertain at this point. We'll be closed Saturday so when the business opens on Monday, June 1st, it will be operating as Bridge Mercantile with new owners. Come and see some of the exciting changes that will be happening!

After 10 wonderful years of serving the Scio community through Scio Hardware and Mercantile, it’s time for Mike & Melodee to begin their next chapter — retirement! 🛠️❤️

Please join us in celebrating them on Friday, May 29th from 2:00–5:30 PM at the hardware store as we honor all they’ve done for the community through their store, their generosity, and their support of local schools and organizations over the years. This will be a “drop in as you please” sort of gathering.

Mike & Melodee have poured their hearts into this community, donating countless hours, merchandise, and financial support to causes that matter. Now it’s our turn to celebrate them and thank them for everything they’ve given.

We hope you’ll stop by, share a memory, and help us send them into retirement with lots of love and appreciation!

GOOD BEAUTIFUL MORNING, SCIO!

Man, there are some exciting changes taking place around here lately.

We want to again welcome Duran Farm & Equipment to the neighborhood. Please be sure to stop in and see them in June when they’re up and running.

This coming Monday will be Memorial Day and we’ll be closed. We often think of it as the start of summer, but we think it’s important to remember Memorial Day is "the day we pay homage to all those who didn't come home," explains author Tamra Bolton. "It is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom." It is a day to pause and reflect upon the many service members who risked and ultimately lost their lives fighting on behalf of the United States. Thank you can never be enough.

We’ll do a separate post as a reminder but next week will be the last week of Scio Hardware and Mercantile. Mike and Melodee will be open late Tuesday through Friday so if you’d like to stop by for a quick chat or maybe a final good deal on a gift, they’d love to see you. Have a look in the Mercantile if you’d like some hints about the exciting changes coming there!
