Severe Temperature Alert.

Since it is supposed to be -10F or lower in Chicago you might like to know.

The temperature heating is recommended to be engineered for in Chicago is -6F. This means that if your equipment is not oversized it will not provide enough heat when it is colder then that. If this is the case, it can be expected that the inside temperature will be one degree lower inside for every degree the temperature is lower outside. i.e. the thermostat is set at 68oF then at -11oF it may get to 63oF inside.

Recommendation. If you have a night setback thermostat walk over to it now and set the temperature where you want it to be and hit hold or turn off the setback. If it is colder outside than your equipment can provide heat there is no way it will heat the building back up from night setback.

Brian Berg Jr had a great morning visiting the Brookfield Zoo's Seven Seas Exhibit to see and feel the new Heating, Air Conditioning, Dehumidification and Ventilation system he engineered.

What a great engineering challenge and experience to do this. Not many engineers get this opportunity. Sadly, the Dolphins were just hanging around and not playing. Looking forward to coming back to see it filled with people to see the show.
