Established in 1978, we provide expert engineering and surveying services nationwide, delivering quality services on time and on budget.

Incorporated in November of 1978, EMC began as a partnership of three professional engineers providing Environmental, Marine, and Civil engineering to the local municipalities, industries, and private developers. After five years, the firm had tripled in size and moved from its original offices on Liberty Street in Savannah to our present location in the heart of Historic Savannah downtown busines

s district. After ten years in business, EMC had grown to become one of the top three firms in the Savannah area with expanded services that included surveying, transportation engineering, and landscape architecture. In 1998, after twenty years in business, EMC had grown into a multi-disciplined regional firm with our main office still in Savannah and the first branch office in Statesboro, Georgia. Over the past ten years, EMC has expanded its service area to include Albany, Augusta, Brunswick, Columbus, Thomaston, and Greenville (SC).

At EMC, we’re proud to support the passions our team members bring beyond their roles—like Cam Greathouse Baseball Camp. ⚾

Cam, a Jr. Party Chief at EMC and former pitcher in the Chicago Cubs organization, has always had a deep connection to the game. After his professional baseball career, he found a new path that blends his love for athletics, math, and the outdoors in his work at EMC.

His baseball camp began as a small spring break opportunity for kids who weren’t traveling—just a way to keep them active and engaged. Today, it has grown into a weeklong summer camp serving more than 70 young athletes, focused on skill development, confidence, and fun.

We’re honored to support Cam’s efforts to create meaningful experiences for the next generation and to see the positive impact he continues to make in the community.

Getting game-day ready! ⚽️ Last month, our Thomaston team helped prepare Matthews Field for the GHSA State Soccer Playoffs. We’re proud to have supported our community and loved seeing the action right here in Thomaston!

While studying at UGA, Landon set out to find a design internship close to home in Augusta. What started as a conversation at a career fair quickly became something more. After connecting with EMC team members and hearing firsthand how growth is supported here, he knew it was the kind of place where he could build a career, not just gain experience.

💬 “I wanted to work for a company where hard work is rewarded and opportunities are given to those willing to take them.”

As an intern, Landon didn’t just observe. He learned, contributed, and grew. Even in a fast-paced environment, mentors invested in his development and made sure he had the tools to succeed.

💬 “They invested in me and wanted me to succeed. That’s a major reason I came back after graduation.”

Now, as a full-time engineer, Landon is taking on real project ownership, working on everything from subdivisions and schools to commercial developments and retaining wall design.

💬 “One of the most rewarding parts of my job is walking the sites I designed and seeing my work come to life.”

From first day as an intern to building real-world projects, this is what growth at EMC looks like. We can't wait to welcome our next class of interns this summer!

Last Thursday, our Augusta crew enjoyed a fun night at the Augusta GreenJackets game to celebrate our incredible employees and the families who support them. We’re grateful for all that our team does every day! ⚾

We’re proud to see one of our projects already making our community safer and stronger.

For the Picket Fence emergency access road, EMC provided surveying, civil/site engineering, environmental coordination, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction administration—helping deliver a solution that’s already serving residents in real time. The project included the design of a 1.5-mile temporary gravel roadway within a relocatable easement, providing a critical secondary access route to McCall Road during times when trains or other emergencies block the primary access to W. 15th Street.

This effort was made possible through strong collaboration with contractor Pintail Site Preparation, LLC, whose partnership helped bring the project to life.
