EMC Engineering Services, Inc. Established in 1978, we provide expert engineering and surveying services nationwide, delivering quality services on time and on budget.

Incorporated in November of 1978, EMC began as a partnership of three professional engineers providing Environmental, Marine, and Civil engineering to the local municipalities, industries, and private developers. After five years, the firm had tripled in size and moved from its original offices on Liberty Street in Savannah to our present location in the heart of Historic Savannah downtown business district. After ten years in business, EMC had grown to become one of the top three firms in the Savannah area with expanded services that included surveying, transportation engineering, and landscape architecture. In 1998, after twenty years in business, EMC had grown into a multi-disciplined regional firm with our main office still in Savannah and the first branch office in Statesboro, Georgia. Over the past ten years, EMC has expanded its service area to include Albany, Augusta, Brunswick, Columbus, Thomaston, and Greenville (SC).

16 years. 10+ locations. One survey team.

This past weekend, our survey professionals gathered at Little Ocmulgee for the 16th Annual Charles W. Tuten Field Day.

It was a weekend filled with hands-on learning, knowledge sharing, team building, and a lot of laughs. From discussing department goals and exploring new technology to learning from industry partners Duncan-Parnell and eGPS Solutions, our team came away with new insights and stronger connections.

And of course, some of the best moments happened after the training was over, gathered around the bonfire, guitars in hand, enjoying time together.

We're proud of the team we've built and grateful for the opportunity to invest in the people who make EMC stronger every day.

Civil Engineering Myth: The Work Starts When Construction Begins

When most people think about civil engineering, they picture heavy equipment, construction crews, and work happening on-site.

But some of the most important work takes place long before construction ever begins.

From evaluating site conditions and planning drainage to coordinating utilities and access, thoughtful engineering helps set projects up for success from day one.

At EMC Engineering Services, we know that successful projects start with careful planning, collaboration, and a strong understanding of the communities we serve.

Introducing The Minds of EMC 💡🏗️

A new leadership series sharing insights on the trends, challenges, and partnerships shaping the communities we serve.

To kick things off, we're highlighting EMC's 25+ year partnership with the City of Metter, Georgia. What began as a single CDBG-funded streetscape project evolved into a lasting relationship built on trust, responsiveness, and a shared vision for progress.

In this feature, we reflect on the lessons learned from decades of collaboration and why having a trusted engineering partner can make a lasting difference for growing communities.
