These fryers take a beating. We brought the welder. 🔥

Back at Slim Chickens in Bradenton for another round of mobile stainless repairs. Repeated contact from shaking fryer baskets against the tanks had damaged the edges, so we TIG welded those areas and repaired a few grease pans and utensils while we were there.

An active kitchen with grease residue means fire prevention is a serious part of the job. My daughter Lila came along to help and took on fire watch, keeping an eye on the surrounding area while I focused on welding. Proud to have her working alongside me.

Restaurant equipment works hard—and replacing it isn’t always the only option.

Changing lift kits doesn’t undo the cuts from the old one.

This 2014 Toyota USA Tundra 4x4 had part of its original crossmember cut for the differential drop on a 6” Rough Country lift. The owner switched to a setup that keeps the same lift height without requiring that modification, so I rebuilt the missing section.

I welded a 3/16” steel plate behind the lower control arm mount, then fabricated a boxed crossmember section with a 2” overlap onto the original steel and tied it into the new mounting plate.

A bucket of leftover steel became a tropical fish. 🐠

I made this sculpture from 1/4-inch steel plate pieces left over from a fabrication job. Welded triangles form the body, while long, curved fins give it a sense of movement. The steel’s texture and visible welds are part of its character.

I’m exploring more original metal art through Bad Moon Welding & Fabrication, and this is a direction I’m excited to keep developing.

I’d love to connect with artists, galleries, and anyone interested in custom metal sculpture here in Sarasota and beyond.

A small hole can cause a big headache on the water. 🚤

This pontoon came in with a hole covered by a temporary adhesive patch. I removed the patch, cleaned the aluminum, and drilled the hole to 1/4" to fit an aluminum plug. Once welded closed, I ground the weld back and made another pass to finish the repair.

Some serious aluminum on the welding table! 💪

Just wrapped up these heavy-duty stands for Woodruff & Sons, Inc., Inc., built from 3/4" aluminum plate and 1/2" thick C-channel. Here’s a look at the process—from prep and propane preheating to pulse MIG welding with my Everlast 253DPI.

A mountain bike luggage rack doesn’t bolt straight onto an e-scooter—but that’s what the customer needed it to do.

The original mounting bracket sat at an angle, so we cut it off, lined it up straight, welded it back in place, and repainted the rack to match.
