Radian is proud to announce the latest addition to our domestic production capabilities: an advanced, upper-tier skiving machine engineered to meet the increasingly demanding thermal requirements of next-generation hardware.

With a 1,700 mm × 800 mm working table, this new capability significantly expands our capacity for large-format, high-density thermal solutions.
Our skiving process supports fin heights of up to:

☑️ 150 mm for Aluminium (Al)

Five things are often still moving when a thermal team is asked to commit:

➡️ Power
➡️ Mechanical envelope
➡️ Hotspot location
➡️ Flow / pressure-drop budget
➡️ Assumptions, and manufacturing constraints.

That's not necessarily a communication failure. It's the reality of concurrent engineering, but it also means cold-plate and vapor-chamber designs can end up being optimized around assumptions that change again later.

Stefan Nusser, CPO of Intrinsic, spoke at International Manufacturing Technology Show 2026 on the real ROI and realities of AI in industrial automation.

The economics of automation have always worked against high-mix shops:

• An automation system is traditionally purchased for one job, so it has to pay for itself over the lifespan of that job.
• High-mix, low-volume shops change parts too often for that math to close.
• Only about 8% of tasks in machine shops are automated today. Tens of thousands of machine and fabrication shops across the US and Europe are in that position.

A modular, multipurpose cell that can run specialized AI models changes what's feasible and affordable:

• The cell becomes flexible and easy to reprogram, job by job, order by order.
• Machine utilization can improve.
• Machine operators – experts in physical processes with deep domain knowledge – can orchestrate more jobs, more machines, more processes.
• The cost of the cell is amortized over the lifespan of the automation technology rather than the lifespan of a single task or SKU.

This will be a game changer for the day-to-day operations and operating costs of a machine shop, which will be among the first businesses to operationalize AI in immediately valuable, measurable ways that make a difference on day one.

Stefan was joined on stage by Trinity Robotics Automation and Radian Thermal Products to discuss the realities of building and managing AI solutions, and to redefine how they do business together. From design to deployment, support and ongoing services, AI and the platforms that support it at industrial grade are making new things possible for the first time.
