We’re proud to share that our Principal Operations Manager, Melanie Carrido, PE, recently joined a panel of industry experts at San José State University (SJSU) for the Silicon Valley Women in Engineering (WiE) Conference as a panelist for the Sustainable Resilience & Urban Planning Session.

Melanie’s presentation focused on rethinking and recharging our approaches to water management to support long-term sustainability; a topic that’s critical to the future of our communities and our state’s economy. MKN, now an Ardurra company, remains committed to inspiring and educating the next generation of engineers. It was an honor to engage with the bright minds at SJSU’s Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering and share our passion for the impactful and evolving field of water engineering.

Last Thursday (Feb. 26), our crew—Ava Mattis, Melanie Carrido, Mihika Ram, Stefanos Word, and Patrick Hughes—headed out to cheer on the San Jose Sharks against the Calgary Flames. It was a tough 4-1 loss, but a 10/10 night for team spirit.

It’s been a few months since MKN & Associates, LLP, joined 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽, 𝗜𝗻𝗰., and the integration is off to a great start. Our teams are already connecting, sharing knowledge, and collaborating to deliver smart solutions for the communities we serve.

At MKN, the holiday season is about more than just celebration, it’s about community. This year, our offices continued our annual tradition of giving back to the local neighborhoods we call home. Thanks to the generosity of our team, we provided donations to the Kern County Jamison Children’s Center, the Spark of Love Toy Drive, and the SLO County Foster Care🧸.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the season brighter for local children and families. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🌟

It has been one year since we lost our dear friend and colleague, Rob Lepore. As one of the "Founding Four" of MKN, Rob didn’t just help build a company; he helped build a community.

We have seen incredible changes in the last year, including our recent expansion with Ardurra. As we enter this next chapter of growth, we find ourselves thinking of Rob often, grateful for the strong foundation he laid.

Rob was the kind of person who always made time to teach and to connect. He was excited about the future and deeply invested in the people around him. We honor him today by carrying that spirit of generosity and excellence forward.

We continue to send our warmest thoughts to his children, Kiera, Nick, and Juliana. Rob, you are deeply missed, but your fingerprint is on everything we build.
