A video from one of our field techs showing a LOT of dust being kicked up in the Southern California High Desert region. Dust storms like this can increase soiling loss by a full percentage per day in the most extreme cases. It is not too late to deploy soiling loss sensors for operational plants or for resource assessment (Sound On and UP) 😂

We have a big announcement of something we have been working towards for over 10 years! Fracsun has teamed up with App Orchid Inc to bring an AI enabled Soiling Loss Database to the solar industry. We initially embarked on this journey to measure soiling loss accurately in the hopes that someday we would have enough data streaming in to finally create dependable tool for determining soiling loss. Soon this tool will empower modelers, designers, originators and even operators by leveraging a massive dataset with plain language queries to dramatically de-risk solar projects.

I will always be a proponent of local measurement as the gold standard but a model that gives 90% confidence (or better) is a close second!
