Ethan has made a tremendous impact through his contributions to award winning projects such as the Downtown Atascadero Infrastructure Enhancement Project and the Avila Beach Drive Roundabout, his role on the ASCE YMF board, and his time lecturing and presenting at Cal Poly.

Congratulations to our own Brandon Puccini on earning his Professional Mechanical Engineer license!

Brandon’s work on projects with Cal Poly, Pebble Beach CSD, and Sunnyslope County Water District, just to name a few, has made him a tremendous asset to our firm. His enthusiasm, expertise, and professionalism shine!

What was once an open agricultural plot is being transformed into a vibrant 21-acre hub for recreation and community. The Santa Maria Sports Complex will feature soccer, lacrosse, futsal, and rugby fields, along with walking trails, picnic areas, fitness stations, restrooms, a concession stand, and a playground. Designed for play and connection, this new space offers something for everyone!

Congratulations to the City of Santa Maria on breaking ground and thank you for your partnership. We are excited to see the Santa Maria Sports Complex spring to life and serve the community for years to come.

Congratulations to the City of San Luis Obispo and the County Zone 9 Flood Control District on the completion of the San Luis Obispo Creek Mid Higuera Bypass Project, the result of decades of planning to improve flood protection and community resilience. As Engineer of Record, Wallace Group was proud to support this landmark effort from concept development and grant funding through final design and construction. The project increases creek capacity through flood benches, flood bypass channels, replacement of the Bianchi Lane Bridge, strategic sediment management, and removal of invasive vegetation, carefully balancing environmental stewardship with the constraints of the built environment. The result is improved flood protection for nearby neighborhoods and businesses and a healthier, more resilient riparian corridor better prepared for future storm events. Well done to the City, the County, and the entire project team on delivering the City’s largest flood-control project. We are grateful to contribute work that strengthens our community.

Thank you to the Central Coast Chapter of APWA for recognizing several of our recent projects. We are honored to receive both the Transportation Project of the Year Award and the Overall Project of the Year Award for the transformative El Camino Real Downtown Project with the City of Atascadero.

We are also proud to see our work with the City of San Luis Obispo recognized, including the beloved Laguna Lake Dog Park renovations and the San Luis Obispo Creek Mid Higuera Bypass. These projects earned awards in the Structures under $5M and Structures $5M to $25M categories, respectively.

Marina Coast Water District is taking important steps to increase resiliency in the water supply by reviving their 30‑year‑old desalination plant, as recently covered by KSBW. When fully operational, the system will deliver 300-acre feet of drought‑resistant water annually, enough to support 1,000 households. Wallace Group is proud to support the District’s initiative with engineering, surveying and construction management services and support that will help bring this vital resource back online.

The transformation of Avila Beach Drive at US 101 from a chaotic five-legged intersection into a smooth flowing roundabout was made possible through the collaboration, ingenuity, and tenacity of a dedicated project team. At the ribbon cutting, semitrucks, cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles all passed seamlessly through the new roundabout as the community celebrated this milestone.

Our design work reflects the contributions of this large and highly collaborative team. Just in time for Spring, the City of Oxnard celebrates the grand reopening of the newly renovated Oxnard Tennis Center! This beloved community hub received major upgrades to preserve and enhance the space for years to come. Renovations included:

• Full reconstruction of the courts

• A new layout featuring 16 pickleball courts and 4 tennis courts

• New interior fencing for improved safety and separation of play

• New netting and striping across every court

Congratulations to the City of Oxnard for bringing these improvements to life and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in delivering a refreshed, community‑centered space for all to enjoy!
