If your Tesla has over 100,000 miles, don’t ignore this...

This customer’s high mileage Tesla Model S/X came in with suspension noise, a failing front CV axle, and worn brakes. After a full inspection, we replaced the front CV axle shaft, front lower control arm, and installed new front and rear brake pads and rotors to get it back on the road safely.

One thing I’ve learned working on Teslas is that preventative maintenance almost always costs less than waiting for parts to completely fail. Addressing these issues early can help avoid larger and more expensive repairs later.

How many miles are on your Tesla? Leave your mileage in the comments. I’ll let you know what maintenance items you should be watching based on your mileage.

This is one of those repairs that makes every mechanic ask… why?

On this Tesla Model S/X, the lower control arm bolt can’t be removed because the battery blocks it. The only option is to cut the bolt, then install the new one in the opposite direction so future repairs are much easier.

Why do you think Tesla designed it this way? Intentional or oversight? Tell me below.

Suspension noise on your Tesla? Don’t ignore it because it could be more than just an annoying squeak.

Today’s mobile repair took us to Alameda, California, where this Tesla Model X was making suspension noise. After diagnosing the issue, we replaced both front sway bar end links and the right front ride height sensor. The repair was completed on site, and the customer was back on the road the same day.

Have you ever heard a clunk, squeak, or rattle from your Tesla suspension? Let me know in the comments what it sounded like.

The service manual and I are having another meeting…

Not every repair is straightforward, and that’s okay. Sometimes taking a few extra minutes to verify the diagnosis saves the customer hundreds of dollars in unnecessary parts and labor.

That’s how we approach every Tesla we work on.

Is your Tesla making squeaks, clunks, or suspension noise?

In this video, I explain a customer’s suspension concern, walk through the three front control arms that commonly wear out, and show what we replaced to eliminate the noise.

If your Tesla is making unusual sounds over bumps or while turning, understanding these components can help you identify the problem before it gets worse.

Comment your Tesla’s year and model below and let me know what symptoms you’re experiencing.

One of the best parts of this job is handing the keys back to the customer for test drive and watching their reaction when they get to feel the new suspension for the first time.

If you’ve ever driven a car before and after a proper suspension setup, you know the feeling.

What’s the first mod you’d make to a GR86 if you were taking it to the track?

Tesla’s Cybercab is here, and it changes everything. No steering wheel. No pedals. No driver. Just a two-seat robotaxi that Tesla says will sell for under $30,000.

So we have to ask: on a 6 hour road trip with nothing to do but sit back, what would you actually be doing in here? If you never had to drive again, would you even miss it? And would you really pay extra for an Uber with a human driver when this could pull up instead?

Drop your honest answer below. We read every comment.

We are Ride Rite Mobile Auto Services, the Bay Area’s mobile Tesla suspension and maintenance specialists. We come to you. Autonomous or not, these Teslas still need tires, suspension, and brakes, and that is what we do best. Free quotes at riderite.us
