In June 2022, the Deep Ocean Engineering team completed factory acceptance testing of a customer's Phantom® L6 ROV at Richmond Bay.
Before the vehicle entered the water, our engineering team conducted a thorough pre-dive inspection, checking critical components including the thrusters, flotation, cables, whips, and sealing surfaces.
The wet and operational testing then put the L6 through its paces, including:
✅ Thruster performance
✅ Lighting and camera systems
✅ Customer-specific add-ons
✅ Software compatibility
✅ Overall operational functionality
The L6 performed exceptionally well, making it a highly successful day of testing and an important step before delivery to the customer.
The Phantom® L6 was designed as a versatile inspection-class ROV, with an open platform that could be customised with a range of additional equipment to meet specific operational requirements, from surveying to dam and infrastructure inspections.
This successful test reflected what Deep Ocean Engineering had always focused on: rugged, reliable, highly maneuverable underwater robotic systems engineered for real-world applications.
