The Northeast Boundary Tunnel is almost operational! As we work to bring it online, here is one more peek inside. We are proud to announce the appointment of Liliana Maldonado, PE to EPC’s Board of Directors, effective September 1, 2023.

Ms. Maldonado has over 40 years of experience in the engineering, environmental and construction industries with a focus on water infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Over the span of her career, she has worked in research, has held leadership positions with several local government water sector entities in Atlanta, Washington DC and Virginia, and has held executive management positions with global, industry-leading engineering and manufacturing firms. Liliana received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico in 1979 and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1980.

“Liliana’s experience and expertise in infrastructure program and project management will help in guiding EPC for the next chapter of our continued growth.” EPC’s Managing Principal, Steve Wang, PE.

Ms. Maldonado is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed literature including technical papers, presentations and articles for Water Environment Federation journals and conferences, engineering industry periodicals and technical and professional conferences. She has also received many awards over the years including being honored as a Fellow by the Water Environment Federation in 2016, receiving the Hispanic Engineers National Achievement Award for Professional Achievement in 2002 and the Arthur Sydney Bedell Award from the Water Environment Federation in 1999.

Liliana’s extensive knowledge in both the private and public sectors will contribute to shaping our long-term vision at EPC and we’re confident that her unique perspectives and diverse skill sets will complement our existing leadership team and provide fresh insights as we drive EPC forward.

EPC Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointments of Ena Jade Aczon and Michelle Chavez as our firm’s newest Associates. Their appointments as EPC’s associates will be effective January 1, 2023.

Ena has been with EPC for over 20 years and has extensive experience in program and construction management working on a variety of both small and large, private and public infrastructure projects throughout Northern California. Ena has worked as a Project Engineer on such projects as SFO’s New International Terminal Building, expansions for pharmaceutical and biotechnical facilities, and SFMTA’s Central Subway.

Michelle Chavez, EPC’s Operations Manager, has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry and has been with EPC for 15 years. Michelle has been involved with Los Angeles Metro’s Regional Connector Transit Project since 2014 supporting the agency’s executive management team and previously served as the company’s Office Manager for our Southern California branch.

EPC’s Managing Principal, Steve Wang, stated, “Both Michelle and Ena truly care about EPC as a family. They are dedicated, relentless, and proactive. They are a part of the forces that move EPC forward. This elevation to Associates is a recognition to their efforts and sacrifices”

EPC Consultants, Inc. announced today that its board of directors has appointed EPC Vice President of Corporate Development Rene J. Noriega, as President effective January 1st, 2023. Current President Steve Wang will remain as the Managing Principal and will also take on the role of Vice President for Strategic Development.

“This re-organization aligns with our long-term growth strategy and allows us to continue on our quest of building a unique, inclusive and family focused working culture.” said Steve Wang.

Noriega joined EPC in 1999 and worked on various major infrastructure projects at SFO, VTA, and other Bay Area public agencies. In 2019, he became Vice President and played a critical role in the collaboration towards both the restructuring of EPC's organization and planning for the firm's current business and staffing growth. He is tireless, proactive, and focused.
