The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) continues to drive a major wave of improvements across all nine campuses through its efforts to modernize and reshape community college facilities and the recent Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) event highlights just how transformative this work has become. Their projects across the district demonstrate a commitment to modernization, resilience, and long-term value for students and the community. The event also showcased LACCD’s broader mission to support students through housing initiatives, workforce development, and specialized programs – from culinary arts to civil engineering.
"As engineers, we don't always get to see the legacy in motion of our designs, events like this are a reminder that we should pause and remember our why. When Lisa Williams (LACCD’s Sustainability and Utility Program Manager) echoed a phrase, she once heard, '[y]ou can't manage what you can't measure,' it resonated with me. That's exactly how we should think about delivering real, lasting value on every project we touch,” said Mohammad Assaf, PBS Engineers Director of Electrical Engineering.
As an active engineering partner, PBS Engineers is proud to continue to support LACCD’s ongoing modernization efforts and our team remains committed to delivering innovative, sustainable, and technology-forward solutions that align with the district’s long-term vision. With a history of delivering MEP, Low Voltage, and Technology services for LACCD, PBS Engineers brings technical insight and a practical understanding of the evolving infrastructure needs.
