Proud father moment for me last week.
Took my boys out to assist on the install of a 20 kW ground mount system. This was their first install and they killed it.
After being in the solar industry for most of my working career, it is rare that I get to experience something new for the first time. This past week, I had the pleasure of doing something I have always dreamed about, I installed my first solar array with my two boys by my side.
My boys have grown up watching the solar industry provide for our family. They have seen the long days, the hard work, the travel, the ups and downs, and everything that comes with building a life in this industry. But this time they were not just watching from the sidelines. They got to build the array from scratch, slap some glass, have some laughs, and feel the satisfaction of building a small energy production system. Watching them work made me so proud, but seeing them enjoy the process as much as I always have, meant more to me than I can explain.
Solar has given me a lot over the years, but this one was different. This was not just another project, this was a proud dad moment, a full circle moment, and a memory I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
