Boat zincs gone in 2 months? The zinc probably isn’t the problem.

Stray current from shore power, a battery, or bad wiring can burn through sacrificial anodes far faster than normal. Check these first:

1. Shore power ground on your boat and dock
2. Galvanic isolator
3. Bonding system
4. The boat next to you

Fast-burning anodes are a warning sign. Replacing them without finding the source just pays for the problem again.

Same shaft. Same number of anodes. Different protection.

Consistent material gives even current flow and predictable protection. Mixed zinc, aluminum, and magnesium gives uneven current flow, reduced efficiency, and protection you can’t predict.

Save this before your next haul out, and send it to the boater with a mixed shaft.
