We are incredibly proud to share that RICK received five project and individual honors at this year’s ASCE San Diego Section Awards.

Project awards included:
• Outstanding Construction Project — Maple Canyon Restoration Phases 1 and 2
• Outstanding Transportation Project — La Media Road Improvements
• Outstanding Small Project — Goldentop Road Water Quality Improvement Project

We are excited to celebrate Edgar Camerino, Principal and Public Works Division Manager at RICK, who received the Outstanding Civil Engineer in the Private Sector award for his leadership and longstanding contributions to transportation and public infrastructure projects throughout San Diego County. Over the span of his 34-year career, Edgar has remained committed to engineering education and mentorship of the next generation through his involvement and leadership with organizations including ACEC San Diego, the San Diego Transportation Development Association, and San Diego State University’s College of Engineering.

We are also happy to share that Ash Paranthaman, Water Resources Project Manager at RICK, received the Outstanding Younger Engineer award for his exceptional contributions to water resources engineering and stormwater infrastructure as an emerging leader in the industry. Last year, Ash was recognized as an Emerging Leader by Stormwater Solutions Magazine.

Happy National Public Works Week to RICK’s Public Works and Transportation team!

We are proud of the recent recognition for public works projects like Maple Canyon Restoration Phases 1 and 2, which received the Construction Project award at this year’s ASCE San Diego Awards.
Many members of the team are actively involved with organizations including APWA, ASCE, WTS, and ACEC, helping support collaboration and long-term infrastructure improvements within the engineering and public works community.

National Public Works Week is a chance to recognize our Public Works and Transportation team and their dedication to collaboration and building more resilient communities. More celebrations to come!

We were honored to receive the Best Small Company award at this year’s Circle of Excellence Awards in Tucson.

Congratulations to our very own Connie Jiang for being recognized as one of the top employee campaign leaders. We are so proud of Connie and our entire Tucson team for the excellence and care they bring to every project.

May is Bike Month in San Luis Obispo County, and our SLO team was excited to be part of the action this morning.

We welcomed more than 150 commuters biking to work and school, offering breakfast and a chance to connect before their day began. Events like this reflect the kind of partnerships that strengthen our community.

We were so proud to see members of the RICK team take part in this year’s SDSU Senior Engineering Design Day.

Several RICK interns presented their senior design projects alongside their student teams, including Camryn Crumpton, Emily Brown, Tara Mohan, and Yefri Organis. Camryn’s team presented their Encinitas Community Park Stormwater Capture and Reuse project, focused on water reuse and stormwater solutions for the community.

Below are a few photos from the event and from some of the student project booths captured throughout the day. The collaboration and months of hard work behind these projects was clear in every presentation we saw and conversation heard, and we are proud of all of the students and future engineers who participated in Design Day and shared their work.

RICK recently had the opportunity to join the Cal Poly SLO chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers for a presentation on projects our Transportation team has worked on.

Edgar Camerino and Brian Stephenson flew up to SLO for the event where they joined Gabe Miller in presenting our transportation work while hearing students’ questions and perspectives. The students are already so passionate and curious about the industry, and the future of transportation is bright. Thank you to Cal Poly SLO for having us, it was an honor to present to so many future engineers and share more about the work we do at RICK.
