RICK had an amazing time at APWA PWX 2026 in Houston!
More than 5,000 public works professionals from across North America came together at the George R. Brown Convention Center for this year’s conference. PWX featured hundreds of educational sessions and workshops, along with a large exhibit floor showcasing heavy equipment, tools, and services from across the industry.
San Diego had an especially strong presence at PWX this year, as RICK attended as part of the APWA San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter, joining more than 60 representatives from our region. The San Diego group included the City of San Diego, City of El Cajon, City of Solana Beach, Port of San Diego, City of Carlsbad, City of Coronado, City of Chula Vista, County of San Diego, City of La Mesa, and City of Encinitas, as well as local consulting firms, vendors, and UC San Diego students.
There was even more to celebrate for our local chapter, with two San Diego graduates recognized from APWA’s Emerging Leaders Academy.
RICK’s Ash Paranthaman also took the stage at PWX, and his session gave attendees a closer look at the Maple Canyon Restoration and Flood Mitigation project, and how the canyon’s natural systems became part of the solution.
Thank you to APWA for a memorable PWX, and to everyone from the San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter for a great week in Houston! We loved getting to spend time with so many colleagues and friends from our local public works community and seeing San Diego represented so strongly throughout the conference.
