74% of patients remained drop-free for at least 3 years after a single SLT treatment.

The LiGHT Trial changed how we think about first-line glaucoma therapy. Selective laser trabeculoplasty delivered superior IOP stability compared to drops — at a lower cost, with fewer adverse events, and less disease progression. The data is clear: laser first is a viable, evidence-based choice for patients with ocular hypertension and open angle glaucoma.

The macula demands precision. Green laser cannot provide it the way yellow can.

The 577nm yellow laser offers peak absorption by oxyhemoglobin in microaneurysms — the source of macular leakage — while sparing the xanthophyll pigment that protects central vision. Unlike the 532nm green laser, which is absorbed by melanin in the RPE and choroid and risks collateral damage, yellow laser allows targeted treatment closer to the fovea with a significantly reduced risk of photoreceptor destruction. When treating the macula, wavelength selection is not a preference — it is a clinical decision.

Featuring insights from Dr. Tarek Alasil (), vitreoretinal surgeon at the Retina Institute of California.

Transscleral Cyclophotocoagulation (CPC) in action.
This laser-based procedure targets the ciliary body to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with refractory glaucoma — offering a treatment pathway when conventional options fall short.
The precision required at every step is a reflection of the skill and dedication of the clinicians behind the probe.

"The LIGHTMED SAPPHIRE is my new favorite tool in the clinic."
Don't just take our word for it — hear it from Dr. Nur Saadeddin (.laser), Laser Expert & Laser Safety Officer, Innovation Medical Center Bucharest & Cluj Smile Society, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Dr. Saadeddin has worked with the SAPPHIRE at the highest level — from tip changes in seconds with no purging or priming, to treating children with little to no anesthesia. The SAPPHIRE has truly changed the way her clinic works.

Transscleral Cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC) for advanced glaucoma — a closer look at the procedure.
Using a double arc technique, this treatment delivers two series of applications along the ciliary body — one closer to the limbus, one further away — covering both the upper and lower regions while carefully skipping the 3 and 9 o’clock positions for a more comprehensive and controlled treatment.
The LIGHTLas 810 by LIGHTMED makes this minimally invasive, in-office procedure precise, reliable, and effective for patients with advanced glaucoma.

Mucocele removal made precise, efficient, and minimally invasive with the SAPPHIRE Er:YAG Laser by LIGHTMED.
Mucoceles are benign oral lesions caused by blocked or ruptured salivary glands. Traditional surgical removal can be uncomfortable and slow to heal — laser treatment offers a faster, more precise alternative with minimal bleeding and reduced recovery time.

The implant is exposed — now comes the critical step.
After degranulation, the site is carefully reviewed before the LIGHTMED SAPPHIRE Er:YAG Dental Laser gets to work on the implant surface — precise, controlled, and thorough.

Precision matters when every surrounding structure is at risk. The LIGHTLas YAG-V was built for exactly that.
Carlos Souza, MD, PhD of the Federal University of São Paulo has seen firsthand how this non-invasive, in-office treatment can dramatically improve patients' quality of life by restoring their visual clarity.

Tooth sensitivity, solved at the source.
If cold drinks make your patients wince, here's why Er:YAG laser desensitization is changing the conversation:

Seals tubules at the source — not a coating that wears off
2,940 nm wavelength — absorbed by water 10,000x more than Nd:YAG, so energy stays at the surface
No needles. No drill. No vibration.
~2 minutes of chair time per area
Long-lasting relief documented out to 6 months in clinical studies
Minimal collateral damage — safe for the pulp at appropriate settings
Naturally bactericidal — a bonus for cervical lesion cases

Conventional pastes and varnishes mask the symptom. Er:YAG addresses the mechanism — sealing the dentinal tubules so the fluid movement that triggers nerve pain can't happen.
Faster appointments. Calmer patients. Results that hold.
The SAPPHIRE Hard and Soft Tissue Dental Laser by LIGHTMED — built for the modern practice.

Can laser therapy save a failing implant? Watch how it starts.
Peri-implantitis doesn't have to mean implant failure. The LIGHTMED SAPPHIRE Er:YAG Dental Laser offers a precise, minimally invasive approach to treating peri-implant defects — and this is where it begins.
Part 1 of 3: Open flap approach and degranulation of the peri-implant defect.
