Congratulations to Israel Rodriguez, Project Engineer, on earning the SCS Gold Cultural Excellence Coin, the highest honor we give.

This is not handed out lightly. It is reserved for the people who set the standard and make this company better by being part of it. Israel is exactly that kind of person. He is hardworking and efficient, on top of every detail, and ready to step into whatever role a project needs to keep the whole operation moving. A true jack of all trades who holds it all together.

At SCS our people come first. We invest in our team and we look out for one another, because every structure we put up and every job we deliver comes down to the people standing behind it. We are proud of Israel and proud of what he represents about this company. Well earned, Israel.

Lots of progress on the mechanical side this week. Crews set the exhaust ducting and welded out the seams where the sections meet, fitting and welding across every level. This is self-perform work, our own crews and our own welders doing the craft themselves. That is how we control the schedule and the quality from start to finish.

Congratulations to Dana Michelle Cortez, Iron Worker Helper, the latest recipient of the SCS Copper Cultural Excellence Coin. This week, Dana was recognized by both SCS and our project partner at the all-hands meeting. Dana completes the daily JSA and Confined Space documentation for the weld crew. Even when spaces aren’t permit-required, she still documents every entry and exit. She’s always on site, always on time, and never misses returning the air monitors and paperwork at end of shift.

Dana is also the first woman at SCS to earn a recognition coin. Well earned, Dana! At SCS, our people come first, and recognition like this is how we show it.

When the client is handing out recognition coins to our guys, it says everything that needs to be said about the work being put in out there. Congrats to Ismael Lopez on a well-earned recognition for being one of the top riggers on the project, coordinating with other contractors during lifting operations, and staying on top of barricades, horns, whistles, and overall lift safety. This is the kind of field leadership and attention to detail that keeps lifts planned, controlled, and on track.

The SCS Gold Cultural Excellence Coin is the highest honor we award at SCS. Leadership isn’t about time in seat or titles. It’s about how you show up every day when it counts. We have a superintendent who stepped in and delivered from day one. Whether it was safety, quality, or production, he handled it the way we expect leaders at this company to perform.
