The RRC has proposed a new rule, 16 TAC §3.66 relating to Weather Emergency Preparedness Standards. Public comment on the rule is accepted until Monday, August 15, 2022. An in-person only workshop for Rulemaking Related to Weather Emergency Preparedness Standards is scheduled for next Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 9:30 in Austin.

If you have any questions regarding this rule or TAC §3.65 Critical Designation of Natural Gas Infrastructure please don't hesitate to reach out! The Flatrock team has been working diligently to prepare for these new requirements and ensure our clients are in compliance by the deadlines.

Below is a summary and a link for more information.

The proposed rule would require operators of facilities on the Electricity Supply Chain Map to:
- Implement weather emergency preparation measures focusing on continuing operations during emergencies that put the electricity grid at risk;
- Correct any known weather-related forced stoppages that occur before December 1, 2022, and;
- Notify the RRC if a facility has a weather-related forced stoppage that is not resolved within 24 hours.

This page lists the RRC's proposals to change or delete existing rules, or to add new rules. Rules listed on this page have been approved for submission to the Texas Register for publication for public comment. Except where noted, these proposals have not been adopted.
