Finished up this 1835cc for a Baja. We cleaned up the casting flashing in the engine case and heads. Touched up the intakes and exhaust on the heads for better head flows. Profiled the camshaft, and port matched the oil pump to the engine case and pump cover. Painted the cylinders and push rod tubes to prevent rust.

We take a lot of time to trim the engine tin to fit as tight as possible on every piece. We used a ton of tape to to protect the chrome tin from scratches

The countdown to the 2025 Utah VW Classic continues, with two weeks left until the event. We have completed the final assembly of the 1776cc raffle engine. The tin fitting was precision executed for maximum cooling, and the AN fitting used as a breather was drilled out. All mating surfaces were sanded flat, and the engine tin was powder coated before full assembly.

This engine will be paired with a beautifully restored 34 Pict 3 unit from BlackLine Racing. The next phase will include videos of the engine running.

The 2025 Utah VW Classic raffle engine is set for assembly. Having undergone blueprinting, profiling, and polishing, the engine's components will now be measured to confirm they meet the necessary specifications before proceeding with the long block assembly.
