Calculators down and floaties on!

Turns out, we’re just as good at making waves as we are at calculating load paths! Our crew and their families traded spreadsheets and red lines for splash zones and waterslides at our annual summer party at Cowabunga Bay.

We brought the same energy to waterslides that we bring to beam design, just with 80% more sunscreen.

Ice Cold Deadlines. 🏒Red Hot Engineering.🔥

Designing a new training facility for a pro hockey team? No pressure — just a tight schedule, existing building constraints, and the small task of replacing 300+ feet of shear wall.

To get on the ice as soon as possible, we initially considered a pre-engineered metal building or open webbed steel joists and girders but landed on a conventional steel-framed structure with wide-flange joists and custom steel trusses as they could be constructed faster (because “next season” waits for no one).

And that concrete wall? Looks simple. It Wasn’t. Retrofitting it required a Zamboni-load of coordination to keep the building’s lateral performance on point.

Our engineer’s soundtrack of choice for this brain-squeezer? Best of Daft Punk. Because nothing says “retrofit detail coordination” like 🎵“Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.”🎶

Our Ragnar Rockstars crushed it at Ragnar Trail Zion this last weekend! Huge congrats to team #382, including four of our amazing employees and their equally awesome family and friends. As they say, “What’s wrong with a little 3:00 am eight mile run, ya know?” Way to go!
