At Paris 2024, more than 2,800 apartments were designed with accessible bathrooms, including roll-in showers, transfer benches, and reinforced walls for support bars and safety handles.

Why?

Because small safety features prevent injuries and make daily movement easier for athletes with mobility challenges.

The same idea applies in every home.

We’re honored to look back on Night to Shine 2023 here in Salt Lake City. Being able to donate a ramp for The Genesis Project meant more than just providing access — it meant creating a smooth, safe entrance for every guest to celebrate with confidence and joy.

Did you know Utah has one of the youngest populations in the country — but its 65+ population is growing faster than any other age group?

According to U.S. Census data, the number of Utah residents over 65 has more than doubled since 2000 — and it’s projected to keep rising.

In Salt Lake County specifically, thousands of homes were built in the 70s–90s with split levels and multi-story layouts — meaning stairs are a major factor in aging safely at home.

Utah may be young overall…
but accessibility planning is becoming more important every year.

Aging in place isn’t a future conversation here.
It’s happening now.
