Firecracker Hamfest - Salisbury, NC In Ham speak we call that a "QSO", and an in person meeting is often referred to as an "Eyeball QSO".

The Firecracker Hamfest is an annual social/community event created to facilitate the in person meeting, and interaction between Amateur Radio Operators who may talk everyday on the air, but only get to meet in person on rare occassion... ction between Amateur Radio Operators who may talk everyday on the air, but only get to meet in person on rare occassion. This event if filled with fun activities all centered around what is essentially a flea market for Amateur Radio equipment both old and new, and sometimes hand made equipment (often better built than commercial equipment) will find it's way to a table. You may also find computer equipment, and an assortment of electronic parts and tools at amazingly affordable prices. The event also features contests, license testing sessions, equipment testing, door prizes and refreshments. You simply never know what or who will show up at these events, but one thing is certain, if you miss it you will be sorry later on down the log book. :-) 73
