A while back, I got a request to make a tool for clearing brush along fences, and we looked at classic billhook designs, but I felt that something closer to a Thai billhook--which I don't know the name of, unfortunately--would work better. This one is made to be fitted onto store-bought shovel handles for easy replacement.

I've been making novelty railroad spike knives for a long time, and they are "novelty knives" because railroad spikes don't have enough carbon to harden enough for a blade. To solve this, Atlas Knife and Tool (not sponsored) started making their own high carbon spikes. This will be my first time using them, but I've worked with 1080-series steel, before. Should be fun!

I'm excited to work on a fundraiser collaboration with to help support the Horses for Heroes program at Giant City Stables! We are each forging our own takes on recurves from farrier's rasps, and will be donating the proceeds from selling those blades to Giant City Stables!

A freshly quenched farrier's rasp kiridashi. Once it has been tempered and sharpened, it will be available for $50.

These are going to become Halloween-themed novelty knives. Stay tuned!

Made by Hand. Built to Be Used.

There’s something different about a knife that has a story behind it.

Each of my knives is hand-forged, one at a time, with an emphasis on rugged craftsmanship, practical function, and materials that deserve a second life. Whenever possible, I enjoy reusing and repurposing old steel and salvaged materials, turning something forgotten into something worth keeping and handing down to the next generation.

These aren't knives meant to sit in a display case.

They’re made to earn their place in the kitchen, in the field, or at the campsite. A good knife is one of the most important tools you can have.

Every blade is unique. Every piece of reclaimed material has its own history. And because they're made by hand, no two knives are exactly alike.

If you appreciate honest craftsmanship, useful tools, and owning something made by a real person in Southern Illinois instead of a factory assembly line on the other side of the world, send me a message and let's talk about your next knife!

Due to a significant increase in scam attempts, I will not be accepting any orders or purchase requests from accounts that are less than 1 year old.
