So the baby opossum was eating at the food bowl and the fluffy opossum came up behind him.
They looked at each other and were like ahhh run!!! And they both ran off in different directions.
The joke is that these are the two primary opossums that eat at the food bowl every night. I know that they know each other as they are out there every night.
Watching it in real time made me laugh.
The baby opossum came back first and finished eating.
Then I went out and refilled the bowl and the fluffy opossum came up and ate his dinner.
They must have spooked each other.
It was quite comical to me.
The stuff you see feeding the critters!

Charcoal was relaxing in the shade out at the survival site this afternoon when I went out to shoot my video.

I haven’t seen him in a couple of days and as I was walking out to the survival site I was wondering where he’s been and if he was ok.

As I walked in he was laying there in the shade and he greeted me with a meow.

After I was done filming I told him I would get him a treat and some food. So he walked up front to the food bowl to eat. I gave him his treat and he let me pat him.

Meanwhile TigerStripe was passed out under my car out front.

I’ve seen Charcoal out at the survival site multiple times now recently.

I’m glad he’s out there hanging out with Joey like he used to.

Finished off the last of the muscadine grapes.
The season has passed.
And even though it is still blazing hot and humid, fall will be upon us soon.
It’s amazing that the muscadine cycle is on point year after year with no maintenance or intervention.
I don’t know where this muscadine vine came from. Maybe the neighbors planted it years ago. Maybe it just grew there on its own.
I didn’t plant it that’s for sure.
A free healthy blessing every year!
And I am grateful and thankful for it.

TigerStripe actually stopped and let me take his pic during daylight out in the open.

This is the first time I was able to get a full pic of him out in the driveway.

He still keeps his distance but he doesn’t always run away now.

I see him every day now. He basically lives out front and has been doing so for months now.

He is well fed and always has plenty of water.
There is plenty of shade out front for him to try to manage the heat and humidity.

And he’s relatively safe in the yard.

He lets Charcoal and the opossums come by and eat without any issues. And when Charcoal wants to rest out front they just keep their distance as there is plenty of room.

But he did take issue with “Slick Rick”, the sneaky squirrel who ate daily at the front food bowl. Sadly, I found the remains of “Slick Rick” out front a few feet from the food bowl.
He became complacent eating freely for months at the food bowl, letting his guard down, not realizing that a feral cat was in the bushes behind him. So RIP to “Slick Rick” the squirrel.

But TigerStripe is a main part of the crew and I care about him as I do with the rest of the multi-species coalition that make up my tiny animal kingdom.

Out at the survival site after spraying myself down with non toxic essential oil based bug spray.
Waiting to see if the pterodactyl mosquitoes will devour my blood and carry me away to the abyss.
And… the stuff actually works. No bugs around me the whole time. Pretty cool.
Lemongrass and peppermint oil based spray.
No more snorting DEET. 😆

TigerStripe sleeping on top of the trash bin.

His freeloading furry butt just makes himself at home out front.

No rent, no job, free food and water, just lays around all day, geez.

He’s my buddy so I’m good with it.

Poor dude has had a tough life.

He doesn’t even know how to meow or interact with people.

He only knows survival mode.

His big wound on the back of his neck is almost completely healed up. And his smaller wound is about gone.

I’m glad I can help him in the limited ways I can.

Out at the survival site playing with my new battery powered water purifier pump.

Having redundant means of filtering and purifying drinking water is a must for emergency preparedness.
