We'd love to have you come out to Devils Fork State Park on Saturday to help clean up the park at V.I.P. (Volunteer, Improve, Protect) Day with Friends Of Jocassee!

We are offering 20% off your rental for those who participate! You can reserve your rental and kayak around the lake picking up trash. Use the code VIPday.

Details:
When - Saturday, Sept. 12th from 9 am - Noon
Where - meet in front of Eclectic Sun
Need to Bring - nothing! Friends of Jocassee will provide gloves, water, snacks, bags

Volunteers don't need to pay admission either. Tell the gate agent you are volunteering. Use the code VIP20 afterwards for the discount.

V.I.P. Day is this Saturday at Devils Fork State Park and we want to give a huge shoutout to Jocassee Lake Tours and Shuttle Service, who are donating FOUR boats that will picking up trash all over the lake in places that you can only access by boat. 💦

This is a massive effort and we hope you will come out and help us to clean up the shoreline, day use areas, and beaches!

Lake Jocassee is over 11 feet down from full pool which means - MORE spaces we need to clean up on V.I.P Day!

Please consider coming to join us on Saturday, September 12th from 9 am - Noon at Devils Fork State Park (and then a BBQ fundraiser right after at Jocassee Valley Brewing) to help clean up the lake and shoreline from a very busy summer.

We need your help to keep this place clean. It doesn't help to complain about it. Come out and help us.

Humans don't respect what they don't truly love and (try to) understand. ❤

This is why we host educational events about the Jocassee Gorges, do litter clean ups, and spend so much time and effort helping people to understand why this place is so special and deserves respect.

The secret about this special place is out. Now it's up to all of us to help others become educated on why it needs to be protected and then actually work to do so.

How? Become a member of Friends of Jocassee, show up at our events, donate to our cause and others who do similar work in our area. Pick up trash when you're out there and be a good example of Leave No Trace. 🗑

V.I.P. Day is our annual collaborative litter pickup at Devils Fork State Park involving divers, hikers, and boaters. Hundreds of volunteers turn out annually to to collect a significant amount of litter from Devils Fork State Park and Lake Jocassee.

Come to the Day Use/Picnic area of Devils Fork State Park on Lake Jocassee between 9:00 - 10:00 AM to sign in, get assignments, and pick up supplies. FOJ will provide snacks, water, trash bags, and rubber gloves.

You do not need to pay the park entry fee when you volunteer for this event.

Join us right after at Jocassee Valley Brewing, just 10 minutes away from the park, for a fun BBQ fundraiser! We have tons of amazing items for auction and raffle + good food + live music. Address is 13412 N Hwy 11, Salem, South Carolina.
