This 1950's era Airco welding machine belonged to my grandfather, Fred Franklin Rodgers. When I cleaned it out and rebuilt it a few years ago, I saved a bag of West Texas dirt that had accumulated in it over the years. Sometimes, I just open the bag and take a whiff and I'm back home. It still burns a hot rod!
Watching my grandpa build useful stuff out of junk inspired me to learn the trade 40 years ago. Thanks for the inspiration, Pawpaw.
