⚾☀️ What a fantastic evening at our annual employee family picnic with the !

We were excited to see such a great turnout as employees and their families joined us for an evening of baseball, beautiful weather, laughter, and quality time together. Events like these are one of the many ways we show our appreciation for the people who make a great place to work.

We believe that taking care of our employees means recognizing the importance of family, connection, and creating opportunities to spend time together outside of the workplace. Seeing everyone enjoy the game and each other's company made the evening truly special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event such a success. We hope the team had a wonderful time and made memories that will last long after the final inning!

🦕 The End of an Era: Farewell to Our Mattison Grinder 🦕

Every company has a few legends. At Hanson, one of them is our Mattison Grinder.

Built in 1962 and acquired by Hanson in 1987, this machine has been a powerhouse in our operation for nearly four decades. A true dinosaur, both in age and size, it has faithfully served generations of employees and played a significant role in the work we do every day.

Its size alone is impressive. With a footprint of approximately 10'1" x 30'9" and a weight of nearly 56,000 pounds, the Mattison Grinder has been impossible to miss and impossible to replace.

Now, after 64 years since it was built and a long, productive life at Hanson, the time has come for this giant to retire. The machine is being removed to make way for new equipment and technology that will help drive the next chapter of our growth and innovation.

While we're excited for the future, we also take a moment to appreciate the past. This grinder wasn't just a machine; it was part of Hanson's history. Its departure marks the end of an era, reminding us how far we've come and inspiring us for where we're headed next.

Thank you, Mattison Grinder, for decades of dependable service. You've left a lasting mark on Hanson, and you won't be forgotten.

🌟 Welcome Our New Apprentices! 🌟
As we celebrate Youth Employment Month, we’re especially proud to support multiple pathways that help young professionals gain real-world experience in a safe, supportive environment—building skills, confidence, and careers in the skilled trades.

At Hanson International, we believe there’s no one “right” path into the skilled trades—and our newest group of apprentices proves just that. Each brings a unique background, perspective, and drive to learn, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them on our team.

🔧 Roy joins us with his degree already in hand and is ready to dive into the next chapter—earning and learning on the job as he works toward completing his apprenticeship hours over the next four years.
🔧 Landynn took a different route, spending a year in the workforce after graduation before choosing the apprenticeship path. With CTE experience already under his belt, he’ll continue his education at Lake Michigan College this fall as he pursues mold making.
🔧 Maddox is getting an early start as a high school junior! Through a new partnership with Berrien RESA, he’ll complete a year-long apprenticeship while finishing his senior year—giving him a head start and a strong foundation for the future.
🔧 And last but certainly not least, Josais joins us through our exciting first-time partnership with Michigan Works Youth Solutions and the Jobs for Michigan Graduates program. This opportunity allows him to gain hands-on experience and real insight into the world of tool and die as he explores a future in engineering.
