With fall winding down and ❄️winter❄️ approaching, it’s time to think about colder weather!

Go through your parts bins, see what items you might need, 90⁰ boom swivels, straight swivels, guns, extra hoses, new foam brushes. Get some self-serve guns ready for a quick change over. Put a gun, wand, swivel and new hose together. If one goes bad, you will be ready! 💯 Same thing for the foam brush, have one made up and ready go. It is easy to do in a warm mechanic’s room. It is not fun to do in the bay with a customer waiting.

How about your doors? Have they been closed lately? The last thing you want to do is figure out that they will not close with a 30-degree night coming. So, open and close them a few times, check the eyes, make sure the temperatures are set properly in the program of your automatic (if the auto controls your doors). Remember to put a little grease and oil on all the moving parts.

Check your heaters! Turn whatever you have on, overhead radiant, floor, heat tapes, etc. Make sure the fill lines on all boilers are at the proper levels. Take the pile of parts and whatever else off the top of boilers. Check the inlet and exhaust vents to make sure they are clean and that there are no bird nests. This is the time to make sure they all work properly and, most importantly, are safe!

Time to start thinking about stocking up on your chemicals. We deliver once a month! For years, I have seen operators run out of soap the week of or a few days before delivery. It is better to have a gallon too much than a gallon too little. This couldn't be more true when it comes to a Winter Foam Brush! With a black tip in (1:6 dilution), you will blow through it fast on a busy day!

Just want to make sure that everyone is aware of the ICA (International Carwash Association) show in Nashville May 9th-11th at The Music City Center. Our sales team; Jeff Kleinendorst and Joe Gotschall will be there along with our Head Service and Tech Chet Allen. The three of them will be glad to answer any questions that you might have.
