Applying for the Capital Region Individual Artist Fellowship? 📝👀 One of the application questions asks you to align your work with attributes from “Aesthetic Perspectives: Attributes of Excellence in Arts for Change”

This framework was developed as a response to the idea that art focused on Justice, Community or Civic Engagement is difficult to evaluate. “Aesthetic Perspectives” provides the language to contextualize socially engaged art beyond Euro-American institutional standards.

If you’re an artist, which Attribute(s) best align with your work?

invited Art Tonic to lead professional development workshops for their art students!

This semester we’re joining Sac State’s BFA Senior Seminar to host a series of workshops designed to help students professionalize their art practice.

Last week we had the pleasure of guiding the class through writing compelling artist statements using Art Tonic tools and guidelines. Next week we’ll dive into outreach and communication strategies, all geared toward helping students build strong materials for the BFA Senior Seminar Spring 2026 Group Exhibition.

Thank you to Rachel Miller, Rey Jeong, and Sarah Flor for inviting us to work with your students ⭐️

Stay tuned for more!
