I will be here demonstrating at the fall meet.

If you would like to make a suggestion of what you want to see forged now is the time to comment.

Right now, there are 3 votes for thumblatches, 2 votes for socketed timberframing chisels, and 1 vote for knife.

Last week I was asked by one of my favorite people Justin Morrell if I could come with my gantry trailer and move some equipment.

For sure, even though the truck needed new brakes. Gave me a reason to fix them..

Turned out to be 3 power hammers a drill press and a Marvel 8/M4 saw.

We moved a fairbanks/Dupont 125, 75 and 25lb from the Morrell Metalsmiths shop up to storage and it brought up many memories and nostalgia as this was my first stop when I came out of retirement and attended my first NEW ENGLAND BLACKSMITHS meet at this amazing blacksmithing shop.

Hard to belive this was 8 or 9 yrs ago and since then the group at Morrell metalsmiths have played majorly in my return.
Both with friendship, kindness and helpful suggestion.

I was nicely surprised that the Marvel saw was donated to me as I've wanted one for some time and this fully rounds out my sawing ability in the school.

Was so nice spending the day with Justin chatting and working as a team to get the job done.

Hugs to everyone at Morrell Metalsmiths here's to many warm wishes for your futures. Thank you Justin, Evan, and Leigh Morrell .

Where does one even start..

My wish lists on equipment that I formed in my single digits up until I was about 30 were extensive..

I always wanted the down draft Buffalo forge with the funky tubes to suck smoke and such and recirculate it back into the fire.

200lb power hammer, swage blocks, german double horn anvil, a school, tig welder, mig welder, threading machine, huge ring bender..

In the last few years the list has been filled.. Including a gyrocopter. LOL..

The last item on the list was a 10K Rough terrain forklift..

I bought the 8K last year, thinking it would be all, and I could let the extra 2000lbs be left behind..

Well, FB marketplace showed me a Traverse Lift 10049 down in CT that needed some love.. Ok, lots of love..

But the price was right, and its potential and bucket list item is now checked off..

It has a John Deere 4045T engine. a clark 18000 transmission and
dana spicer PS1350 axles.

It did start with fluid, but it would not stay running.. I diagnosed it as a faulty fuel pump so I installed a new one.. The old pump would not pressurize the lines..

New pump pressurizes the lines just fine, but loses pressure over a few hours.. I might have to check into this further.

I then got it running again on fluid at home and decided the run/stop in the fuel injection pump might be the culprit..

And after disassembling the top, I was correct that the solenoid was kaput.

I have since also ordered the needed bronze to make new boom slider pads..

Anyhow, in only about a week worth of time things are moving along nicely.

Crazy how bright it is after I cleaned up the machine with the pressure washer. Still waiting on the steam cleaner hose.

Finished. Be a test steaming in my future.

I found an old steam washer for sale within a reasonable distance and for a very good price.

Im not sure sure why I enjoy old tech so much.

Maybe its the lack of electronics.

I was able to get it running so decided to give it a good cleaning so I dont feel badly using it.

Ive been working my butt off.

Joe Lambert came and helped again.

More organizing and starting to move equipment in there "groups".

Will have to refine the layout but seeing all the romm is both exciting and scary.

Scary because I need more storage.

With this its time to start the mezzanine build.

Instead of just building an office /showroom, the mezzanine with be the framework for this space.

Once this mezzanine is fabricated it will allow for storage of items used seldom and free up even more floor spaces.

A brutal day. Horses this morning then lunch and doggy walk.

Tonight I was able to get the hydraulic crimper moved onto the cabinet and not only was it a roller coaster of emotions but I nearly gave up.

I was swearing, crying and even throwing a thing or 2. Ive been pushing it getting done about 8=930pm for the last 3 weeks.

I need 2 more arms.

This crimper weighs about 200lbs so could not move it by myself. Then once in position I could not lower it.

I have a 1910 Cannedy Otto New Model 16 factory electric gear or hand powered post drill for sale.

I paid 350 for it and cleaned it up and got it ready for use.

Looking for 450.00.

Advert claims it will drill 1.5" hole.

2 speed with self feed. If you have ever used a post drill they drill some of the most accurate holes since they are auto feed.

There is a video on the YouTube page of this very drill.

Wow its been a whirlwind here organizing over the last 3 weeks.

It blows my mind how long it takes for a single person to do certain things.

Ive been going thru my hydraulic fittings since they were not sorted when I cleared out a hydraulic shop the owner retired.

I needed someplace to store them, sort them and get organized so cleaned up and old library index card file and painted it.

Ill use this until mire school organizing takes place and see what room opens up.

Axe and Anvil Hand Works was mentioning about tire bender.

I just picked up this Columbian.

When patents ran out all the big ones would jump in and start making.

This is a snap shot out of the Champion forge and blower catalog.

I thought it was funny that both of these benders were shown on the same page.
