We’re excited to welcome John to the Axis team as our newest Civil Engineering / Land Development Intern.

John is currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at Kennesaw State University and is eager to gain hands-on experience in the land development industry. During his internship, he’ll be assisting the civil team with preparing construction documents and supporting ongoing land development projects.

What excites John most about this opportunity is learning more about the process of designing real-world projects and gaining valuable experience from professionals in the field.

With more than 8 years of experience in the AEC industry, Kuber brings a strong technical background and a passion for solving complex design challenges through collaboration, innovation, and precision. His expertise spans building envelope systems, code compliance, BIM automation, computational design, and multidisciplinary coordination across a wide range of project types.

At Axis, Kuber will be leading building envelope systems, overseeing construction document production, coordinating with structural, MEP, and civil teams, and leveraging advanced BIM and computational design tools to ensure technical accuracy across projects.

With 32 years of experience in the AEC industry, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge in architectural design, project development, and construction documentation across a variety of project types. With more than 25 years of specialized experience in the K–12 education market, he has dedicated much of his career to designing thoughtful, functional learning environments that support students, educators, and communities alike.

At Axis, Michael will be working alongside our architects and engineers to develop project programs, building designs, and construction documents for permitting, bidding, and construction.

Alright, time to turn up the volume because this one comes with a built-in soundtrack. Meet Jerry Scheirer — the guy who walks into Axis like it’s the opening scene of Top Gun, with Danger Zone playing in the background (whether you hear it or not is on you).

Jerry is all about delivering a great product, plain and simple. He’s the kind of person who leans into challenges, especially when they push him into new territory. Designing a system he’s never worked with before? That’s not a problem—that’s the fun part. Pair that with a tough client question, and you’ve got exactly the kind of puzzle Jerry enjoys solving. His approach is grounded and consistent: learn from experience, don’t repeat mistakes, and keep getting better every time.

Outside of work, Jerry keeps things just as dialed in. You’ll find him catching a game, spending time with friends, or heading to the bowling alley. And if something needs fixing at home, he’s already on it—home improvement is one of those skills he’s quietly mastered over time.

Jerry has had a hand in shaping some seriously impactful work at Axis, including contributing to Amazon spaces—projects that operate at a massive scale and require precision, creativity, and follow-through. Around the office, he brings that same steady energy every day, backed by a no-nonsense mindset and a Mtn Dew never too far out of reach.

Whether he’s tackling a brand-new design challenge or just keeping things running smoothly, Jerry shows up ready to execute—and maybe just a little bit like he’s about to take off down a runway.

Sameer brings decades of experience in traffic and transportation engineering, along with a deep understanding of what it takes to build strong client relationships and drive smart, sustainable growth. From complex corridor studies to big-picture strategy, he knows how to connect the dots between great engineering and great partnerships—and that’s exactly the energy we’re bringing into this next chapter.

In his new role, Sameer will lead the charge on expanding Axis’ reach, strengthening client connections, and continuing to elevate our transportation practice.

Alright, Axis fam—it’s time for another Employee Spotlight 🔦

Meet Tom Tilinski: part mentor, part problem-solver, part calm-in-the-chaos. Tom’s the kind of person who doesn’t just talk about doing things the right way—he lives it. Whether he’s helping project managers level up, turning around off-track projects, or delivering honest advice exactly when it’s needed, Tom keeps Axis running smarter behind the scenes.

If Tom had a walk-in theme song, it’d be “Early in the Morning” by The Gap Band—because he’s already three steps ahead before most of us finish our first cup of coffee (his limit is exactly one).

Family comes first for Tom. Give him a free plane ticket, and he’s heading straight to Corpus Christi to visit his son serving in the United States Navy. That same loyalty and grounded perspective show up in everything he does at Axis.

Tom thrives where others might panic—jumping into messy projects, finding solutions, and steering things back on course. It’s also what inspired him to help build the Project Management Axis U course, where his impact continues through every person he mentors.

Outside the office, you’ll find Tom sailing, walking, or practicing yoga.

At the end of the day, the biggest win for Tom is simple: hearing from his kids.
